  • Family Advocacy Ministries (FAMs) are church-owned and operated ministries that serve vulnerable children and families through a variety of strategies. FAMs come in all sizes and are implemented at all types of Christian churches. 

    FAMs may serve in three areas: 

    • Prevention - Activities that help prevent children from going into foster care

    • Intervention - Activities that support children and families who are experiencing foster care

    • Connection - Activities that help children find permanency whether through reunification or adoption

    We’ve found that when churches leverage the strength and DNA of their existing church culture and identity, they can have profound results.

  • A Care Community is a team of equipped volunteers from a church that offers spiritual, practical, and emotional support to foster, adoptive, biological, and kinship families. Care Communities are one of the many activities of a FAM.

  • We offer two online training courses for those leading FAMs at their church:

    • FAM Basics is for those leading a variety of activities. 

    • FAM Care Community Clinic for those who want to implement the Care Community model in their church.

  • Promise686 has an ever-expanding library of resources, including awareness and training videos, checklists, email templates - everything you need for your FAM.
