Our Vision
To fulfill God’s promise “to set the lonely in families” (Psalm 68:6)
Our mission
To mobilize church communities to care for vulnerable children
We believe the Church is called to care for vulnerable children.
Since Promise686 was founded in 2009, we’ve been chasing one ambitious vision: ending the child welfare crisis. Thanks to the help of our generous partners and supporters, we’re making serious progress. Through technology, content, and coaching, Promise686 is equipping churches across America to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families in their local communities.
Our Approach
As a national solutions provider, our relational approach mobilizes churches not only to step into moments of crisis but to remain steadfastly engaged, restoring families and reshaping the U.S. child welfare system.
Our Family Advocacy Ministry (FAM) model is designed to unify churches everywhere, ensuring any church, in any community, can effectively intervene, creating lasting transformation and rewriting the stories of those stuck in an overburdened child welfare system.
A Growth Model That Works
Research specifically comparing Promise686 families in Georgia against the statewide average proves that our model of support leads to greater placement stability for children. The study published in the Journal of Public Child Welfare concludes that children whose foster parents have received support through Promise686 have experienced fewer removals and placements than those supported by the state.
We are strategically investing in innovative technology and partnerships to accelerate growth and nationwide impact. The increase of 1,000 churches will create an additional $10 million in economic impact every year, bringing care to 10,355 more children by 2028, compared to 2025.
"Greater placement stability is an important metric for child welfare systems, and the Promise686 program results in Georgia's youth having significantly fewer placements during their time in foster care."
