For fostering families, promise686 has partnered with FaithBridge Foster Care to implement an innovative Community of CareSM foster care model at Perimeter Church. FaithBridge is a “like-minded” organization seeking to change how foster care is done in the US by partnering with the local church. The Community of CareSM is a small group based model which provides foster families with unparalleled support and resources and surrounds foster children and families in loving, stable environments made up of other families and trained volunteers. Foster families work primarily through FaithBridge which greatly simplifies and streamlines the overall process. All of the state foster care training requirements for parents and volunteers are provided at the Church. Certification time has been reduced to 60 days from the typical 6 to 12 months. Faithbridge’s unique model is specifically designed to engage and equip the Church so that it can fulfill its mandate to “look after orphans” (Js 1:27) in the foster care system.
